Overview

Development Technician

Role Overview: We are looking for a hands-on Development Technician to contribute to the design, fabrication, and assembly of specialised components and prototype vehicles. This role involves a combination of technical skill, problem-solving, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure quality and efficiency in production.

Responsibilities
  • Produce custom components using steel and sheet metal
  • Develop, maintain, and improve fixtures, tooling, and jigs
  • Support the full build process of prototype vehicles
  • Share knowledge with production staff by demonstrating correct jig and fixture usage
  • Partner with design and engineering teams to optimise manufacturing methods
  • Uphold high standards of safety and housekeeping in the workshop
  • Be prepared to complete a practical assessment of technical ability
Qualifications
  • Matric or equivalent qualification (further technical training an advantage)
  • Skilled in operating milling machines and lathes
  • Confident in the use of measuring instruments and tools
  • Proficiency in both MIG and TIG welding
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and translate them into practical builds
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
