A technology support company based in Gauteng is looking for an IT Support Specialist. The role involves managing both network infrastructure and end-user devices, including troubleshooting and providing user training. Ideal candidates will have experience in supporting hardware and software as well as ensuring smooth IT operations. Based in Pretoria EastI dont have a job spec, but I think lets use the following as a guideline IT support function that handles both the infrastructure (Networks, servers, etc.) and the end-user devices (desktops, laptops, printers) within an organization.This includes tasks like installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software.Troubleshooting technical issues.Providing user training and ensuring the smooth operation of the IT environment.
Managing network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
Supporting network operating systems, VPNs, and other network-related software.
Ensuring users can access the network and other resources.
Diagnosing and resolving network-related issues, such as slow speeds, connectivity problems, and security vulnerabilities.
Implementing and maintaining network security measures to protect against threats.
Supporting desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.).
Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting software applications.
Managing and supporting operating systems like Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Providing assistance to end-users with their computers and software.
Managing user accounts, passwords, and permissions.
