We are seeking a Design Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team, with a core focus on power distribution and power quality. Work alongside product and automation specialists to deliver technical solutions to the industrial and commercial sector, support ongoing R&D, and be a key contributor in the evolution of our energy portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Electrical System Design: Lead the design and specification of electrical and automation projects, with a strong emphasis on power distribution, power quality correction, and MCC assemblies. Use CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD) to produce and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and layouts.
- Project Execution & Solution Architecture: Participate in solution architecture and execution, from initial feasibility and costing to handover and troubleshooting. Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, proposal engineers, and product specialists.
- Product & Technical Support: Provide Level 3 technical support for the power product portfolio, acting as an expert resource for both customers and internal teams. Aid in technical investigations, application support, and advanced troubleshooting.
- Research & Development: Engage in the research, development, and enhancement of new and existing product solutions within the power and energy markets.
- Business Development: Support the sales team with technical input on proposals and customer engagements. Identify opportunities to drive growth in the power/energy business unit.
- Team & Stakeholder Management: Assist the Engineering Manager with team deliverables, freeing up management capacity and mentoring junior engineers as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or related field).
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant industry experience (with at least 2 years in a design engineering role), focused on power distribution and power quality. Exposure to automation systems is highly advantageous.
- Strong electrical design and CAD proficiency.
- Solid grounding in energy distribution and power quality principles.
- Understanding of automation systems and integration.
- Experience with solution architecture/execution and technical sales environments.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and run projects from concept to completion.
- Comfortable engaging directly with clients, suppliers, and technical teams.
