POSITION INFO

Riverside Manor Retirement Estate is looking for a dynamic, compassionate leader to join our team and uphold the highest standards of geriatric care.

REQUIREMENTS
  • South African citizen
  • SANC-registered nurse
  • Minimum 10 years’ practical nursing experience, with at least 5 years in geriatric care
  • Proven experience in Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Frail Care
  • Leadership experience as Head of Nursing
  • Empathy and passion for caring for the elderly
  • Ability to work collaboratively with medical professionals including GPs, specialists, physiotherapists, biokineticists, podiatrists, and dieticians
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Report directly to the Nursing Services Manager
  • Manage quality nursing care in line with the Older Persons Act 13 of 2006
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Social Development requirements
  • Implement and manage nursing policies and procedures
  • Oversee nursing staff complement, leave, absenteeism, and performance
  • Conduct assessments and develop integrated care plans
  • Maintain high nursing standards across mid-, frail-, Alzheimer’s-, and dementia care
  • Manage wound care, medication administration, and oxygen / nebulisation
  • Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care plans
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • Coordinate with other departments and service providers
