REPORTING TO : Supply Chain Executive
Position Overview
To manage, control and distribute all products in storage, ensuring that all materials are received, issued and counted regularly and rotated as per schedule and practice. In addition, support service issues and compile monthly benchmarking figures for the business.
KPA 1: Depot Management and Support Services
- Assume responsibility for the management of the Depot.
- Provide technical direction on both an operational and team level.
- Monitor the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods.
- Forecast stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and performance evaluation using IT systems.
- Coordinate and control the order cycle and associated information systems.
- Establish efficient security, stock control, and optimum storage conditions for all the company's product lines.
- Oversee the receipt, coordination, and safety of goods coming through the depot.
- Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Develop business by gaining new contracts, analysing logistical problems, and producing new solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements and set environmental, health, safety, and quality standards.
KPA 2: Team Management
- Motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork.
- Ensure set productivity targets are met.
- Train staff.
- Monitor staff performance and progress.
- Communicate with other departments, staff groups, and customers.
- Brief team members on daily issues.
KPA 3: Depot Leadership
- Manage the depot within time and budget limits.
- Plan, select, develop, and maintain suitable team capabilities for the function.
- Identify and timely address functional-related problems and opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Provide technical direction.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements and nationally accepted environmental, health, safety, and quality standards.
KPA 4: Inventory Management
- Keep stocks of goods in line with agreed parameters, balancing efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Calculate and compile monthly benchmarking figures to achieve objectives.
- Manage the quality levels in line with company quality principles to satisfy both company and customer expectations.
