Job description

Responsible for leading, developing, monitoring, and managing the PMO function. The role will support the successful delivery of organizational strategic programs by providing oversight to inform prioritization decisions, defining and maintaining project management standards through effective facilitation, tracking, and reporting. The person appointed will report to the Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Develop and implement the PMO strategy, operating model, frameworks, and charter.
  2. Manage project Managers, oversee day-to-day PMO activities, provide guidance on policies and processes, and collaborate with department leaders to deliver projects.
  3. Drive Demand Management process in consultation with stakeholders.
  4. Lead, develop, monitor, and manage the PMO, fostering a culture of high performance, value-for-money, optimization, and innovation.
  5. Support the CIO in managing the ICT and Digital Transformation projects portfolio to ensure strategic alignment.
  6. Foster a project-management-oriented culture among stakeholders and organizational leadership.
  7. Manage and develop a team of business analysts and enhance IT Services business analysis capabilities through professional development.
  8. Lead the development of IT Quality Assurance and Testing capabilities and manage related teams.
  9. Identify and implement project management processes, tools, and standards to support successful project delivery.
  10. Facilitate processes for planning and prioritization by leadership and governance.
  11. Define and direct end-to-end PMO work efforts, leveraging best practices to realize benefits.
  12. Provide coaching and mentoring to PMO staff and project managers.
  13. Build relationships with senior leadership and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
  14. Review and improve project management practices to achieve higher maturity in Project Portfolio Management (PPM).

Other Key Competencies:

Excellent communication skills, creativity, attention to detail, customer focus, and a blend of business and IT skills. Ability to build cross-functional relationships, influence, and negotiate effectively.
