Job summary

A healthcare department in Pretoria is seeking a qualified Dental Specialist/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer to provide clinical services in Oral Medicine and Periodontics. Requirements :

  • An MChD (Oral Medicine and Periodontics) degree or equivalent qualification to allow registration with HPCSA as a specialist in Oral Medicine and Periodontics. Current registration with the HPCSA as a specialist (Independent Practice). Relevant experience of at least one year in clinical practice of the specialty. Experience in teaching and supervision of undergraduate students in the discipline. Record of research experience in the field. Additional qualifications in the field and experience in postgraduate supervision in clinical training/ research will be an added advantage.

Duties :

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical services in the specialty of Oral Medicine and Periodontics (including Implant Dentistry). Other responsibilities include teaching and supervision of both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The candidate will serve as the Module Chair/ coordinator for undergraduate and postgraduate modules. The role also involves assisting with departmental financial management, participating actively in research initiatives, and undertaking any other duties as assigned by the Department Head.
