Job Purpose
To assist with the implementation of the Student Debt Management Policy including but not limited to the processing of adjustments and collection of outstanding debt.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Matric.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a debtor’s environment.

Recommendations:

  • Debtors experience within Higher Education and knowledge of ITS.
  • A Diploma in Business Studies with Accounting as subject.
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
  • Adjust/update the student account in accordance with the Student Debt Management Policy.
  • Follow up on payment arrangements and ensure that students are informed about the payment terms.
  • Perform a credit control function at registration.
  • Generate quotations using the CPUT website.
  • Allocate Bursary credits to the student account.
  • Assist with sending out of final demand letters to non-registered students with outstanding debt.
  • Assist with completing debit order forms for students to make payment arrangements.
  • Hand over student accounts to Debt collectors.
  • Verifying Graduation lists.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as required within the Debtors environment.
  • Accuracy.
  • Numeracy.
  • Good listening and communication skills.
  • Time management.
  • Knowledge of National Credit Act and Prescription Act.
  • Knowledge of ITS, MS Word and MS Excel.
