Job summary

Central University of Technology, Free State in Bloemfontein seeks a Dean of Student Affairs to provide leadership for Wellness, Sport, Residences and Governance & Student Life, aligning services with the university's 2030 strategy. The role oversees integrated service operations and ensures value-driven student support across multiple units.

Five-year fixed-term appointment with a focus on strategy, policy development and stakeholder engagement, based at the Bloemfontein Campus.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Sciences or Education.
Eight years' relevant experience.
Five years in a leadership role, preferably in higher education.
Experience in strategy, policy and business process development.
Experience with relations between management and students.
Proficiency in data/knowledge management and reporting.
Understanding of HE policy/frameworks.

Responsibilities

Develop policies and strategic plans for the section.
Provide leadership for Wellness Centre, Operational Sport, Residences and Governance & Student Life.
Oversee resources for the section (human, financial, infrastructural).
Foster efficiency, execution, monitoring and learning in the section.
Ensure data stewardship and knowledge management capacity.
Represent the section in internal and external forums.
