  • KM-1Our client in the telecom sector is seeking a professional DBA Administrator on a contract duration of 6 to 12 months
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install Oracle server, client with respect to appropriate version, release and patch level.
  • Install patches, Upgrade minor releases, and install and configure new features upon agreement with OpCo.
  • Creation of Database (builds and manage database including Tablespace and system/infrastructure users).
  • Recommendation on what patches to install.
  • Upgrade databases according to the Component Catalogue if approved by the appropriate OpCo Application Teams and compliant with the OpCo's hosted applications.
  • Responsible for recovery of the database using RMAN, BCV backups.
  • Maintain Oracle Standards for set‑up of Production Oracle DBs.
  • Maintain Oracle Standards for set‑up of Test / Acceptance Oracle DBs.
  • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades, and performing database failover tests.
  • DB Performance Management – Pro‑active tuning of SQL and database.
  • Ensure availability and performance of the databases.
  • OEM or grid control.
  • Predict future Oracle trends for linear tablespace (per instance) growth and space management.
  • Perform data refresh from production systems wherever the infrastructure is available.
  • Implement workarounds and solutions to solve incidents and problems, in close collaboration with and according to OpCo's needs.
  • Database troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis of problems.
  • Secure DB according to security policies.
  • Auditing / intruder detection at the DBMS level.
  • Problem management.
