Job summary

iOCO in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong Databricks expertise to design, build and maintain scalable data solutions.

You will develop robust data pipelines, integrate data from multiple sources, and collaborate with data architects, analysts and scientists to deliver reliable data for analytics.

This 12-month contract role offers exposure to modern cloud data platforms and a chance to drive data quality, governance and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer in enterprise data environments.
• Hands-on Databricks expertise and data pipeline development.
• Strong SQL, Python and Spark skills; data modelling fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks.
• Build and optimise ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion and delivery.
• Integrate data from multiple sources and create reliable data models for analytics.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Analysts and Data Scientists to ensure data quality and governance.
• Document pipelines and participate in solution design discussions.
