Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist specializing in Predictive Analytics. This fully remote role, though based in Mossel Bay, offers global collaboration and flexibility.

You will extract insights from large datasets, develop advanced predictive models, and guide strategic decisions across business units. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience, strong programming skills in Python and R, and deep expertise in ML, statistics, and big data technologies.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong focus on predictive modeling and machine learning.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas, NumPy) and R.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, time series), and deep learning.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects in a remote setting.
