Job summary

Super Group International is seeking a data scientist/actuarial analyst to model and analyse the financial performance of the business. You will combine actuarial science with data analytics to build credible models, generate insights, and support strategic decisions.

You will lead model development, forecasting, and scenario analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive value and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with Actuarial Science and Statistics as major subjects.
• Minimum of 3 years' actuarial experience in life insurance or retirement funds.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and intermediate SQL.
• Proficiency in Python or similar data science language.
• Progress towards ASSA examinations (A213, A211, A113).
• Strong written and verbal communication and report-writing skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance the SuperModel and related tools.
• Design dashboards and visuals using Power BI for decision-making.
• Integrate SuperModel outputs into group financial systems and processes.
• Provide onboarding and training for non-actuarial users.
• Forecast using model runs, analyze results, and report findings.
• Conduct ad hoc actuarial analyses to support strategic initiatives.
