About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Data Scientist to join their innovative financial services team in Centurion . You will play a crucial role in leveraging large datasets to extract actionable insights, build predictive models, and drive data-informed strategies. This position requires a strong blend of statistical analysis, machine learning expertise, and business acumen to solve complex challenges within the financial sector. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data-driven solutions that enhance customer experience, mitigate risk, and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models for prediction, classification, and clustering.
• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify key trends, patterns, and insights relevant to financial services.
• Design and implement A/B tests and other experiments to validate hypotheses and model performance.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data science models into production systems.
• Communicate complex findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong experience with SQL and working with large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark).
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
• Experience within the financial services industry is highly desirable.
