Placements24 is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join their analytics team in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will analyze large financial datasets, build predictive models, and derive actionable insights to drive strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role, preferably within financial services.
• Proficiency in Python or R and libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
• Strong knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib).
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and ML algorithms.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
• Prior experience or understanding of the financial sector in Vereeniging, Gauteng is beneficial.
