Data Migration Specialist
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and control all activities relating to data migration and reporting between current and new operating systems, including data at facility and corporate levels.
- Data Governance and Compliance: ensure data migration aligns with policies and regulatory standards; enforce data stewardship for accuracy and accountability.
- Data Mapping and Transformation: validate, cleanse, and standardize data; define mapping between legacy and new systems; transform data to fit new structures.
- Testing and Validation: conduct pre- and post-migration QA checks to ensure data integrity; support User Acceptance Testing for accuracy.
- Data Quality & Integrity: perform data validation, cleansing, quality assurance, and standardization to maintain consistency and reliability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Coordination: liaise with the Project Team and Business Units to ensure a smooth transition and address concerns.
- Continuous Improvement and Post-Go Live Support: assist in data optimization and ongoing enhancements for improved management.
Required Education
- Essential Education: Certification in data management or related field, or 3–5 years of hands-on data migration experience (preferably in a SAP environment); formal qualification may be waived if strong practical expertise is demonstrated.
- Desired Education: Data Management/Stewardship qualification.
Required Experience
- Essential Minimum Experience: 3–5 years of proven data experience, including hands-on data migration projects.
- Desired Experience: SQL, data management and database management experience, preferably within healthcare; familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Data extraction, mapping and transformation skills (SQL)
- Knowledge of data quality and validation techniques
- Knowledge of Data Governance concepts and requirements
- Good interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Attention to detail and quality assurance
