Job summary

Tsogo Sun Digital is seeking an IT Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions for enterprise-wide data collection, processing, storage, and analytics. The role supports BI, reporting, and data-driven decision-making by ensuring high-quality, secure data across the organization.

You will build data pipelines, optimize ETL/ELT processes, and implement data governance while collaborating with analysts, developers, and data scientists.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, IT, data science, or related field.
• Relevant certifications are advantageous and can boost eligibility.
• 4–8 years’ experience in data engineering, data integration, or database development.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred) and BI/analytics initiatives.
• Strong SQL, Python, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data warehouse design skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and integration solutions.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources.
• Design and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures.
• Implement and manage data models to support reporting and analytics.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of data infrastructure.
