Job summary

Network IT invites applications for a Senior Data Engineer at our Johannesburg branch, offering a hybrid working model. The role sits in the Data Science Team and focuses on building and maintaining the organization’s data structures and data pipelines with enterprise-grade ETL/ELT and data lakes.

You will collaborate across teams, deliver high-quality solutions, and help shape data strategy using AWS, Snowflake, and DBT. Mentoring peers and guiding data initiatives are key parts of this role.

Qualifications

• Active experience in building enterprise-grade ETL/ELT processes and data lakes with code-based techniques.
• Experience with Agile development processes, Jira, Git, etc.
• Proficient in Python, Bash/Shell scripting and SQL (PostgreSQL).
• Knowledge of Snowflake and DBT is desirable.
• Knowledge of Dragster and Superset would be advantageous.
• Experience with AWS Cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Big Data is ideal.
• Experience in market research, marketing industries and survey data is beneficial.

A well-known marketing organization with branches in multiple overseas countries is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their organization at their Johannesburg branch. The Senior Data Engineer will be required to work on a hybrid model. Working within the Data Science Team, the Data Engineer will be responsible for the organization's data structure.

Duties & Responsibilities

Requirements:

1. Active working experience in building enterprise standard ETL/ELT processes as well as data lakes with a focus on code-based techniques and collaborative environments.
