Monthly Basic Salary (Market related, Negotiable). Our client based in Isando Johannesburg is seeking a Data Centre Site Supervisor to join their team.
Responsibilities
The Data Centre Site Supervisor is responsible for the effective and efficient running of the Data Centre facility in its entirety, providing support to the Data Centre Manager.
- Manage a team of technicians to ensure smooth operation of the facility.
- Distribute maintenance tasks and manage client upgrades such as cable replacements, component and accessory swaps, and custom upgrades.
- Maintain and update records, drawings, schematics, and working methods for the facility following any changes or upgrades.
- Ensure planned and corrective maintenance events adhere to OHS act requirements and predefined standards and schedules.
- Share knowledge and industry best practices with technical teams and supervisors across all regions.
- Provide ongoing training and evaluation of technical teams on Data Centre best practices and standards.
- Work closely with the Data Centre Manager to resolve escalated support cases and provide relevant technical feedback, including completing incident reports.
- Ensure comprehensive Root Cause Analysis is completed for all incidents and outages.
- Monitor alerting on all Data Centre equipment and coordinate technical team response and feedback to business.
- Respond quickly to all alerting and critical situations.
- Manage 3rd‑party vendor relationships.
- Ensure all SLAs, OLAs, and MSAs are achieved and maintained.
- Implement corrective actions promptly to mitigate negative effects of system outages.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, ISO standards, and legal obligations.
- Support the HR department in achieving the organization’s developmental plan deliverables within agreed timelines.
- Meet agreed inter‑departmental OLAs.
- Implement company and departmental policies, processes, and work instructions to meet quality and timeline requirements.
Critical System Management
- Ensure % electrical uptime and % mechanical uptime as specified.
- Manage maintenance to meet customer MSAs and SLAs.
- Maintain agreed PUE levels.
- Finalize tasks and report accurately within agreed timelines.
Data Centre Ethics & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices.
- Enforce data centre cleaning and HS&E standards.
- Maintain organizational and industry standards for safety and hygiene.

Qualifications
- Electrical qualification preferable.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant data centre experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Data Centre environments and critical infrastructure systems.
- Experience with SHEQ, Information Security, Legal and other requirements and obligations.
- Commitment to the Integrated Management System: taking reasonable care for health, safety, and the workplace; obeying company rules, policies, and procedures in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85.
- Reporting of unsafe or unhealthy conditions that may affect persons or the business.
- Preservation of confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of information for the Company and its clients.
- Commitment to the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
