Responsibilities

• Design efficient solutions to enable rapid deployment of advanced analytical solutions.
• Map out current, future and transitional architectures to meet business objectives.
• Apply data design principles across business pillars and provide holistic designs.
• Produce consistently high‑quality outputs within agreed deadlines.
• Convert business requirements into databases, data warehouses, and data streams.
• Research data acquisition opportunities and develop APIs to retrieve data.
• Develop data governance and management solutions ensuring data security, privacy and compliance.
• Support system development and agile methodologies in delivering solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and/or Data space.
• Solid experience as a Data Architect.
• Banking experience in the South African market.
• Degree in Information Technology, Informatics or related field.
• Experience with SAS, SQL, Teradata and/or AbInitio (advantageous).
• Knowledge of ETL design across various technologies including exception handling.
• Strong data modeling and database design skills.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, methods and technologies.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Knowledge of data governance policies, procedures and standards.
• Understanding of advanced analytics techniques, technologies, standards and best practices related to Data Architecture.
• Knowledge of Master Data Management, Data Warehousing (different architectural approaches) and BI.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, etc.
