Job summary

First Point Group seeks a Data Architect on a 12-month contract in Durban, offered on a hybrid basis. You will lead enterprise data strategy, define current and target architectures, and collaborate with stakeholders to build governance and roadmaps to enable AI, BI, and analytics initiatives.

You will drive data modelling, metadata, MDM, and security standards while engaging senior teams to deliver scalable data capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

• Matric and a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8–10+ years' experience in Data Architecture, Data Management, or Enterprise Architecture.
• Proven experience developing Enterprise Data Strategies.
• Strong experience establishing Data Governance frameworks and operating models.
• Experience conducting Data Maturity Assessments and developing transformation roadmaps.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale data architectures across multiple platforms.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and executive communication experience.
• Strong understanding of data security, privacy, compliance, and risk management.

ROLE OVERVIEW

• The successful candidate will support the development of an Enterprise Data Strategy and establish a scalable, secure, and governed data architecture capability.
