About the Role

Our client, a well-established insurance provider with operations across South Africa, is seeking a meticulous Data Analyst to join their operations team. This role will be based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, with a hybrid work arrangement offering flexibility. You will be instrumental in collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets related to insurance operations, providing actionable insights to improve efficiency, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and process data from various sources within the insurance operations environment.
• Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in operational performance metrics.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational insights.
• Interpret data to provide actionable recommendations to management for process improvements and cost savings.
• Collaborate with different departments to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all analyses.
• Assist in the development and implementation of data quality standards and procedures.
• Stay updated with industry best practices in data analysis and business intelligence.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
• Strong proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, and Python/R.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights effectively.
