Introduction

Our client is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Data Analyst to design, build, and maintain data infrastructure and business intelligence tools that support real‑time decision‑making across key operational areas such as Quality, Logistics, Finance, and KPI Monitoring.

The role acts as a vital link between data systems and business teams, ensuring accurate, accessible, and actionable insights.

The ideal candidate is naturally alert to data gaps or inefficiencies and applies strong problem‑solving skills to support continuous improvement in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Data Infrastructure Development and Maintenance: Build and maintain reliable data systems and pipelines.
  2. BI Visualization and Reporting: Create clear, standardised dashboards for decision‑making.
  3. Data Integrity and Troubleshooting: Ensure data accuracy and quickly resolve issues.
  4. Project Stream Collaboration: Support cross‑functional projects with data insights.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with users to deliver relevant outputs.
  6. Continuous Learning and Innovation: Adopt new tools and connect data users across teams.
  7. System and Data Governance: Ensure data security and compliance.
  8. User‑Centric Data Product Thinking: Make data tools easy to use.
  9. Data Documentation and Audit Readiness: Keep documentation clear and audit‑ready.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years' experience in data analytics or BI infrastructure.
  • Exposure to software, Agri‑tech, or logistics environments is preferred.
  • Proficient in R programming (required).
  • Knowledge of an additional programming language, such as Python, is advantageous.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Power BI / Tableau.
  • Understanding of packhouse systems, agricultural workflows, or logistics operations is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of data documentation standards and version control practices.
  • Familiarity with API's and integrating cloud or hybrid systems.
  • Experienced in developing and maintaining ETL pipelines and data workflows.
  • Understanding of data compliance requirements and frameworks (e.g., POPIA, access control).
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a structured approach to problem‑solving.
  • Ability to develop and manage data pipelines, and translate data into operational KPIs.
  • Skilled in visualizing data clearly for users through dashboards and reports.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
