A governmental development agency in Johannesburg seeks a Data Analyst to support the execution of strategic objectives and drive innovation in the development finance sector. The role includes analyzing investment portfolio data, preparing performance reports, and conducting research. Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant experience and strong financial analysis skills. A Bachelor of Commerce or Economics is advantageous. This is a full-time position.
The NEF is an agency of the dtic, that is a driver and a thought-leader in promoting and facilitating black economic participation through the provision of financial and non-financial support to black‑owned and managed businesses, as well as by promoting a culture of savings and investment among black people. The only Developmental Finance Institution exclusively mandated to grow B‑BBEE.
The incumbent will support the development and execution of the National Empowerment Fund’s strategic objectives, driving innovation within the development finance sector. The role includes conducting research and analysis as well as preparing reports and recommendations across projects.
3 years relevant experience, preferably in the financial / consulting sectors; sound financial analysis skills and knowledge of economic issues to serve as a Data Analyst; excellent MS Office skills especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI. Ability to use pivot tables to analyze data; analysis of data, mainly investment portfolio data for performance reporting purposes; collect, validate and interpret data for strategic purposes; compile quarterly economic outlook with emphasis to specific industries affecting the NEF; collect and analyse primary or secondary data for the department’s research purposes; good report writing skills; research competency required.
Bachelor of Commerce / Economics qualification will be advantageous.
