Our client in Centurion in the agricultural industry, has a permanent role for a Data Analyst.
This position reports to the Team Lead: Business Information.
Main purpose of role
As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and interpreting data to provide valuable insights and drive informed business decisions.
The Data Analyst design, create and deploy enterprise-scale data analytics solutions.
The Data Analysts’ responsibility is to clean and transform data, design and build enterprise data models and incorporate advanced analytic capabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (internal and external) to ensure effective implementation, set-up, utilisation and governance of the enterprise data platform across the organization.
This role contributes to the complete data function for data analytics, business intelligence, advanced analytics.
This role requires a strong business focus, and the individual understands the strategy and direction of the business but focuses on how to underpin that with data.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, and interpret data to provide insights and drive informed business decisions.
- Design, create and deploy enterprise-scale data analytics solutions.
- Clean and transform data; design and build enterprise data models; incorporate advanced analytic capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation, setup, utilisation and governance of the enterprise data platform.
- Contribute to the data function for data analytics, business intelligence, and advanced analytics.
- Underpin business strategy with data insights.
Required minimum education/training
- BCom Information Technology qualification / bachelor’s degree in computer science / Engineering (IT) or similar
- Data analysis tools (Azure Enterprise Data Analyst) certification will be an added advantage
- ITIL or COBIT certification
Required minimum work experience
- 2 – 4 years of working experience in an IT environment
- Experience in working on IT enterprise Azure-based data solutions
- Experience with Power BI, Power Query, T-SQL and visualizing
- Experience in gathering requirements and translating them into designs and outcomes
- Experience working in the Agricultural sector will be an advantage
