A professional services firm in Stellenbosch is seeking a Health and Safety Officer. The role involves managing on-site safety, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Candidates should have a relevant qualification, experience in civil engineering, and be registered with SACPCMP. This is a full-time position in the Engineering department.
Assist with managing Health and Safety on site; ensure all sites fully adhere to H&S regulations.
Ensure proper implementation of the Health and Safety plan.
Report and record all accidents / incidents.
Identify training requirements and scarce skills for the workforce; conduct internal training where needed.
Develop and implement H&S management systems for a group of companies in cohesion with ISO management systems.
Generate Health and Safety Files for contract works.
Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures for all contract and emergency works.
Investigate incidents / accidents.
Liaise between clients principal contractors subcontractors etc.
Conduct compliance audits on all contractors site conditions & H&S systems.
Perform site inspections via online platform and action findings accordingly.
Compile all required Health & Safety documentation including:
Relevant qualification in Health & Safety or related field.
Registered (or candidate) with SACPCMP as a Construction Health and Safety Officer.
At least 1 year of experience in a civil engineering / construction environment.
Basic knowledge of the Health & Safety Acts and regulations relevant to the construction and civil engineering field.
Valid drivers license.
