Job summary

Halewood South Africa in Benoni seeks a Warehouse Operations - Picker / Cycle Counter to ensure stock accuracy and traceability. You will perform daily cycle counts, investigate variances, and correct stock records so planning, procurement and sales have reliable figures.

You will use TransLution scanners, verify locations, support month-end and year-end stock takes, and contribute to a risk-based ABC cycle count program. Matric and inventory experience required; forklift licence is a plus.

Qualifications

• Matric with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy.
• Stock control or inventory management certificate preferred.
• 1–3 years' stock counting or inventory control experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• SYSPRO and TransLution handheld scanning experience.
• Basic Excel skills.
• Understanding of units of measure, batch/lot numbers, FIFO/FEFO.
• Forklift/reach truck licence (advantage).
• Meticulous and numerate; independent and honest.
• Curious problem-solver who looks for root causes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cycle counts according to the ABC count schedule, using TransLution scanners.
• Compare physical counts to SYSPRO, recount variances, and investigate root causes (picking, receiving, unit-of-measure or transaction errors).
• Prepare stock adjustment requests with supporting evidence for approval.
• Check location/bin integrity, labelling, FIFO/FEFO rotation and expiry dates; report damaged, expired or quarantined stock.
• Support month-end and year-end stock takes and audits.
• Report daily count accuracy and variances at the warehouse huddle.
• Help build a risk-based (ABC) cycle count programme that cuts down on full stock takes.
• Pareto variance causes and work with the warehouse managers to eliminate repeat errors.
• Support scanning compliance and bin/location master-data clean-up in TransLution.
