Job summary

Capitec in Stellenbosch is building a talent pipeline of Cyber Security Engineers to design, build, automate and harden security controls across our digital banking ecosystem.

We seek mid-level to senior specialists in Identity Security, Cloud Security, Data Security, Platform Security, Application Security, Network Security and DevSecOps who can influence security architecture, tooling and secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in Cyber Security Engineering, Cloud Security, IAM/IAG, Data Security, Application Security, Network Security, DevSecOps or Platform Engineering.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering or a related field.
• Designing, implementing or supporting enterprise-scale security solutions.

• Contribute to threat modelling, secure access and shift-left security patterns.

We are building a talent pipeline of Engineers who can design, build, automate and harden security controls across our digital banking ecosystem.

We’re looking for various engineers with expertise across Identity Security, Cloud Security, Data Security, Platform Security, Application Security, Network Security and DevSecOp from mid-level to senior level.

• Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and federation patterns
• AWS and Azure cloud security engineering, cloud-native controls and posture improvement
• SASE, ZTNA, Zscaler ZIA/ZPA and hybrid security platform engineering
• Policy-as-code, infrastructure security and control automation

Data Security:

• Data protection, classification, DLP and data governance controls
• Secure data access patterns, encryption, key management and risk-based control implementation
• Security architecture for data platforms, integration layers and digital services

Security Engineering & DevSecOps:

• Security automation, orchestration and platform engineering
• Infrastructure as Code, secure configuration and CI/CD pipeline security
• DevSecOps enablement, secrets management and control validation

Application & Network Security:

• Web application security, API security and secure integration patterns
• Network security engineering, secure access technologies, WAF, EDR and DDoS controls
• Attack surface reduction, threat modelling and control hardening
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in Cyber Security Engineering, Cloud Security, IAM/IAG, Data Security, Application Security, Network Security, DevSecOps or Platform Engineering
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering or a related field

Minimum Knowledge and Experience:

• Designing, implementing or supporting enterprise-scale security solutions
• Engineering security into systems, platforms, applications, pipelines and processes
• Applying security architecture, threat modelling and risk-based control design
