Job summary

A leading organization in cyber security is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer in South Africa to enhance the safety and security of their systems and customer data. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, specifically 2 in cloud security or DevOps roles, and will be responsible for proactive security reviews, implementing security tools, and incident responses. Qualifications

• 5 years of experience, with at least 2 years in a dedicated cloud security or DevOps/DevSecOps/SRE role.
• Experienced in using AWS GuardDuty, Inspector, Landing Zones.

Responsibilities

• Support the CISO in performing proactive reviews of systems & data.
• Participate in architecture reviews and identify gaps in the security program.
• Implement security tooling and respond to security alerts & incidents.

Job description

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to help one of the leading organisations in their sector to continue the safety & security of the business and its customers.

This individual will support the CISO in performing proactive reviews of systems & data, participating in architecture reviews, identifying gaps in their security program, implementing security tooling, and responding to & investigating security alerts & incidents.

• 5 years of experience, with at least 2 years in a dedicated cloud security or (DevOps/DevSecOps/SRE/Platform) role.
• Experienced in infrastructure-as-code - Terraform, CloudFormation or similar
• Skilled in infrastructure security concepts such as lateral movement, rate limiting, container escape, key management or similar
• Proficient in Data manipulation languages - Python or similar
• Experienced in using AWS GuardDuty, Inspector, Landing Zones or similar.
• Familiarity of security standards, access controls & compliance requirements i.e. ISO27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, PCI-DSS-DSS, FINRA
• CCSP, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty
• Experience with integrating security tools into CI/CD pipelines
