Key Responsibilities
  • Determine correct and compliant HS code classifications for all customs declarations.
  • Quality check all types of customs declarations processed through the CHB execution department.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements set out by relevant authorities.
  • Check and process import and export documents, including bills of entry, permission letters, and ad-hoc procedures.
  • Advise on trade agreements, customs tariff classifications, and customs valuations.
  • Undertake functions with various external parties, including S.A.B.S., NCRS, and SAPS.
  • Highlight opportunities for process automation and improvement.
  • Ensure quality standards are met and processes are adequately documented.
  • Maintain accurate records and update staff and clients on new developments and notices.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Grade 12 (Matric) with Logistics/Freight Forwarding & Clearing Certificate.
  • SDS Clearing Part II certificate (Advanced clearing) or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a quality assurance role.
  • Proficiency in Excel, OneNote, Microsoft Teams, Outlook.
  • Fluent in English. Experience in Cargo Wise is a benefit.
