Role

Sixteen01 Capital is seeking an experienced digital asset trader with a proven track record of success and profitability in arbitrage trading.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, forward-thinking professional with a deep understanding of both traditional finance and digital assets.

They should have hands‑on experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Statistical arbitrage
• Market making
• Options / volatility trading

Combined with the ability to design, implement, and actively trade profitable, data‑driven strategies from concept to execution.

We are looking for an independent thinker who thrives in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environments, demonstrates a strong passion for trading, cryptocurrencies, and alternative assets, and consistently seeks out market inefficiencies to exploit.

In this role, the trader will play a central role in shaping and executing the firm’s trading strategies, working closely with the CEO and other traders to identify, backtest, and deploy innovative arbitrage opportunities that align with the firm’s long‑term vision. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a pioneering asset management firm operating at the forefront of digital asset innovation.

The position offers flexibility: it can be full‑time or part‑time, and the successful candidate may choose to work on‑site (Cape Town, Zug or Paris) or remotely.

Qualifications

• Education: Technical university honours degree required, with a master’s qualification preferred.
• Professional: CFA Charterholder (or in the process of obtaining) strongly preferred.
• Background: References and background checks are essential for this role.
