Malander is seeking an experienced and analytical Credit Manager to oversee the full credit function, ensuring effective management of credit risk exposure, cashflow, and debtor performance across a multinational environment. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strong credit risk models, monitoring debtors, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal control standards, while providing strategic financial insight to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a robust financial credit risk model to monitor credit exposure and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Review and enhance standard operating procedures to improve the efficiency and reliability of credit granting processes.
- Define principles and procedures for credit applications to minimise exposure and maintain sound client risk limits.
- Maintain accurate and compliant credit databases and documentation.
- Identify and resolve credit-related issues promptly and elevate unresolved matters where necessary.
- Manage credit insurance and ensure adequate cover for customers.
- Provide technical guidance and analysis on credit matters, including industry trends, risk assessment, and policy changes.
Debtor Management and Reporting:
- Oversee and report on company cash inflows, comparing actuals against forecasts and budgets.
- Monitor debtor balances, ageing reports, overdue accounts, and provisions for bad debts.
- Deliver accurate, timely financial and debtor information to support business decision-making.
Team Leadership and Regional Support:
- Provide guidance, training, and support to regional teams and staff on credit and debtor management processes.
- Contribute to budget development and assist in improving working capital management.
- Lead, mentor, and manage team members to ensure consistent performance and professional growth.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships with management, finance teams, and relevant business partners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure efficient communication, issue resolution, and alignment on credit strategy.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in credit management, including multinational and multi‑currency debt collection.
- At least 3 years’ experience in people management.
- Exposure to production or mining environments advantageous.
- Strong understanding of credit control principles, financial reporting, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and collaborate effectively across all levels.
