A leading importer and distributor in South Africa is seeking a Credit Controller to join their finance team in Sandton. This critical role involves managing the full Accounts Receivable function ensuring cash flow stability and efficient debtor administration. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in Credit Control, possess a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, and be proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems. This role offers a salary range of R20,000 to R23,000 per month.

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG, Retail, or Wholesale Distribution is highly beneficial.

Job description

Our client, a leading importer and distributor in the FMCG/Wholesale Distribution space, is seeking a meticulous and dynamic Credit Controller to join their finance team in Sandton. This fast-paced company is known for its extensive national footprint across large retail groups in South Africa.

This is a critical role responsible for ensuring cash flow stability and efficient debtor administration by managing the full Accounts Receivable function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable Management: Manage the full debtors function, including timely invoicing, statement processing, and proactive collection strategies.
• Retailer Reconciliations: Handle complex retailer accounts.
• Claims Management: Investigate and resolve chargebacks, shortages, pricing claims, and promotional deductions.
• Credit Control & Risk: Conduct credit checks, manage credit limits, and monitor overdue accounts, preparing monthly bad debt provision reports.
• Reporting: Prepare weekly/monthly collection forecasts and accurate AR reports (e.g., aging analysis).
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process efficiencies for faster collections, and assist in automation projects.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of proven experience in Accounts Receivable or Credit Control.
• Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent).
• Advantageous: Experience in the FMCG, Retail, or Wholesale Distribution industry is highly beneficial.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with ERP systems (Syspro experience is beneficial).
• Competencies: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, negotiation skills, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Salary: R20,000 – R23,000 per month
