A reputable educational institution in Newcastle seeks an experienced professional to manage the delivery and assessment of Student Selected Components (SSC) within the MBBS curriculum. This part-time position requires proven leadership experience and a minimum of two years of teaching on the MBBS programme. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure curriculum quality and development, promoting an inclusive and supportive environment in medical education.
Salary : 109725.00 - 145478.00 per annum pro rata

Accountable to the Board of Medical Studies through the Office of the Director or Deputy Director of Medical Studies to manage the delivery and assessment of Student Selected Components (SSC) of the MBBS curriculum including Electives. This is the opportunity for students to personalise the programme. As the curriculum is refreshed it is anticipated the element of student choice will grow further beyond the current SSC offer in years three and four. This will allow the scope of the role to grow to potentially offer further placements in years one and two. The development of SSCs will allow plenty of scope for development and research.
You will work closely with the Year Leads alongside primary and secondary care colleagues delivering the courses. Applications are welcome from doctors from a variety of professional backgrounds and there will be opportunities to teach in their own areas of expertise. They will be directly accountable to Dr Mark Sudlow Head of Year 4.
The University has developed a Teaching and Scholarship Role Profiles document which summarises the range of activities that colleagues may be expected to perform.
This is a part time postion for six hours per week.
