Our client is looking for a Country Manager to join their team.

Summary

The Country Manager will oversee all aspects of the company's operations in Mozambique, reporting to the Board of Directors. The role requires a hands‑on leader with a proven track record in managing large‑scale agricultural operations, navigating complex regulatory environments, and fostering stakeholder relationships in Mozambique.

Location: White River, South Africa
Salary: Market related

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business strategy to drive growth, profitability, and market share in Mozambique’s agribusiness sector.
  • Manage end‑to‑end operations, including production, supply chain, logistics, and distribution, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and performance monitoring to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, local communities, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, including product diversification and market penetration strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards, promoting sustainable practices aligned with the company’s values.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks in the Mozambican market.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
