The Counter salesperson is the first contact who meets customers when they first enter the store and provides excellent customer service.
They are responsible for answering customer queries and resolve all their queries professionally to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and take orders with a professional and friendly approach.
- Assist customers with queries related to electrical, solar, and lighting products.
- Provide expert product knowledge to guide customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
- Process sales orders, quotations, and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming counter area.
- Manage and track back orders, ensuring customer satisfaction with delivery times.
- Update trade counter specials, brochures, and promotional materials.
- Handle telephonic sales quotations and queries.
- Accurately load and capture all sales orders and quotations on the computer system.
- Ensure excellent time management and meet sales targets while delivering top-notch service.
Requirements
Required Technical Knowledge
- A strong background in electrical products, including wiring, circuit protection, and power distribution.
- Knowledge of solar products and systems, including panels, inverters, batteries, and system sizing.
- Expertise in lighting solutions, including LED, CFL, and outdoor lighting.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to electrical installations and solar systems.
- Ability to provide technical support and troubleshooting to customers.
Skills & Experience
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a retail sales role, preferably within the electrical sector.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service and technical support under pressure.
- A background in electrical or a similar field is highly desirable.

Educational Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 (NSC)
- Tertiary Qualification is advantageous
- Computer literate
