Job summary

A leading inventory management firm in Cape Town is seeking an experienced inventory manager to supervise daily operations of the storeroom. Key responsibilities include maintaining inventory records and ensuring material availability. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in warehouse or inventory management, strong organisational and communication skills. This is a full-time role based in Cape Town with scheduled working hours from Monday to Saturday.

  • Supervise daily operations of the storeroom, including receiving, storing, issuing, and distributing materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock checks, audits, and reconciliations.
  • Enforce policies for proper storage, labeling, and handling of goods.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, production, and other departments to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor stock levels and generate requisitions for replenishment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily operations of the storeroom, including receiving, storing, issuing, and distributing materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock checks, audits, and reconciliations.
  • Enforce policies for proper storage, labeling, and handling of goods.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, production, and other departments to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor stock levels and generate requisitions for replenishment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and cleanliness standards.
  • Manage documentation for stock movements (receipts, transfers, disposals).
  • Book parts out on job cards daily.
  • Prepare regular reports on stock status, usage, and discrepancies.
  • Continuously improve inventory management processes and storage efficiency.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse, storeroom, or inventory management.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Working Conditions

Based in the storeroom.

Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting.

Full-time role.

Hours
  • Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00
  • Every second Saturday 08:30 – 12:00
