Job summary

A construction project management firm in South Africa is looking for an experienced professional in Project Cost Control. The ideal candidate should have a B Degree in Quantity Surveying and at least six years of experience in managing costs for large infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include managing project cost baselines, monitoring changes, and ensuring accurate cost reporting. Ideal candidates should have SACQSP registration and experience in contract compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Project cost baseline document which is aligned with the project cost estimate and approved funding, work breakdown structure and the procurement / contracting strategy.

Monitoring and tracking and management of project changes against the approved project cost baseline and the project charter budget.

Coordination of cost inputs, forecasting and project cost changes to enable execution of accurate cost report.

Project management of change process against cost baseline documents and contractual commitments.

Conducts assurances to ensure compliance by external service providers with the agreed management of change procedure.

Obtains / compiles cost estimate of the proposed

Project management of change process against cost baseline documents and contractual commitments in collaboration with Finance Division and Department of Water and Sanitation.

Maintain close awareness on overall project invoicing and, as a signatory support the verification processes through internal and external meetings to ensure value for money in line with contract agreement.

Maintain and improve the standard of cost reporting and ensure that the project health status is reflected through accurate tracking and reporting of changes and risk and the remaining contingencies and risk allowances.
