Job summary

Zohorecruit in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, is seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join our team. You will assist with budgeting for operations, monitor performance against budgets and RFQs, and maintain equipment and supplier databases to support cost containment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BCom preferred), at least 3 years’ relevant experience, and strong MS Office skills. You will help with month-end processes, invoicing, and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with budgeting for operations.
• Monitor performance against budgets and RFQs.

• Source new suppliers and evaluate them against performance.
• Review supplier invoices against contractual rates.
• Review purchase orders against requirements and approve/reject.
• Calculate customer billings and process invoices in Pastel.
• Assist with quotations for ad hoc customer work.
• Assist with month-end processes including journals and reporting.
• Develop and action workflow requests on Prisma.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Source environmentally responsible products and services.
• Track environmental impact of purchases.
• Ensure suppliers comply with environmental standards.
• Adhere to EMS policies and participate in sustainability initiatives.

Our client is seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join their Port Elizabeth team,

• Assist withbudgeting for operations
• Monitor operational performance againstbudgets and RFQs
• Maintain the equipment database for materialhandling equipment
• Source new suppliers and evaluate them againstactual performance, including comparing quotations from different suppliers
• Review supplier invoices and compare themagainst agreed contractual rates
• Review purchase orders submitted to creditorsagainst operational requirements, RFQs and budgets, and approve or reject themaccordingly
• Calculate customer billings, includingpreparing supporting schedules and processing invoices on Pastel when required
• Assist with preparing quotations for ad hoccustomer work
• Assist with month-end processes, includingjournals and reporting
