Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to manage costing for farming and packing operations in Worcester, Western Cape. The ideal candidate should have 2-3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in an agricultural context, and possess strong Microsoft Excel skills. Responsibilities include cost analysis, inventory management, and collaborating with finance teams for budgeting. Reliable transport is essential. Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate costing for farming and packing operations.
  • Conduct cost analysis and reporting for agricultural and packhouse activities.
  • Monitor and analyse inventory variances, inefficiencies and wastage.
  • Perform product costing, inventory reporting and maintenance.
  • Oversee and maintain inventory management processes.
  • Work closely with production and finance teams to implement cost control improvements.
  • Support budgeting and financial planning.
  • Compile daily and weekly productivity reports.
  • Assist with implementation and rollout of new systems.
  • Provide general assistance to the Financial Manager.
