Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 with Accounting and Mathematics.
• BCom Accounting, BCom Financial Accounting, or equivalent qualification.
• Professional accounting designation or progress towards a professional designation (advantageous).
• 3-5 years' experience in financial accounting, financial reporting, or a related accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Experience with general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
• Experience supporting audits, budgeting, and financial analysis activities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.
• Strong organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
• Support month-end and year-end accounting and reporting processes.
• Maintain, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items.
• Ensure accounting transactions are accurately recorded and supported by appropriate documentation.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow administration.
• Prepare and support tax submissions and statutory reporting requirements.
• Support internal and external audits through the preparation of reports and supporting documentation.
• Monitor compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
• Compile financial analyses and management reports to support business decision-making.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting systems.
