A leading accounting firm in South Africa is seeking an experienced Corporate Accounts Manager. This senior role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing client accounts, and supervising junior staff. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS, along with managerial experience in a practice environment. The position emphasizes independent work in a remote setting, with a competitive compensation package offered.
Remote – South Africa-based
At Streets Chartered Accountants, we provide tailored accounting, audit, and advisory services to a diverse client base, supported by a collaborative and forward-thinking remote team. As we continue to grow our South African remote team, we are seeking an experienced Corporate Accounts Manager to join our Corporate Accounts team, distinct from the audit function.
This is a senior-level role suited to a confident, autonomous professional who can take ownership of complex accounts work, review junior team members’ output, and contribute to client-facing and advisory activities.
Corporate Accounts & Financial Reporting (Primary Focus)
Take ownership of the preparation and review of statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and/or IFRS, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high technical quality.
Manage the end-to-end accounts preparation process for a portfolio of corporate clients.
Review work prepared by junior and trainee accountants, providing guidance, feedback, and technical oversight.
Handle complex and ad hoc accounting matters beyond routine accounts preparation.
Ensure all financial deliverables meet internal quality control and professional standards.
Client Interaction & Advisory Support
Act as a point of contact for client queries relating to accounts and financial reporting matters.
Support company evaluations, financial analysis, and future planning discussions, with senior support available where required.
Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery to clients.
Team & Remote Working Responsibilities
Work independently and autonomously within a remote environment, managing deadlines and priorities effectively.
Provide informal oversight and support to junior team members within the remote structure.
Contribute to the continued development and maturity of the remote corporate accounts function.
Manager-level experience in a practice environment, with strong exposure to corporate accounts preparation and review.
Proven ability to work independently, manage complex workloads, and review junior staff work confidently.
Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS.
Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (SAICA, SAIPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Prior UK accountancy experience is highly advantageous but not essential for candidates at the appropriate level.
Experience overseeing or supporting junior team members; remote team management experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Comfortable handling client-facing communication and higher-level accounting discussions.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and sound professional judgement.
