Location: Cape Town, Hybrid (Mondays & Thursdays in office, remaining days remote). Contract: 6-month Fixed-Term. Working Hours: 10H.

Job Summary

They should have a healthy obsession with creating top-quality content, despise inconsistencies and grammatical errors, and possess a strong sense of accessibility on web‑based platforms.

Responsibilities

They will be responsible for reviewing/editing content at different stages of the development process, as well as conducting a full QC of a course on the platform. This includes checking for errors and inconsistencies, and reviewing the functionality of a site/course before final sign‑off. They may also assist with the development of in‑house training materials and work closely with internal role players on multiple client and in‑house projects.

Requirements

• Copy editing and/or proofreading experience
• Advanced spelling and grammar expertise in the English language
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Comfortable working on different platforms and with a variety of online tools
• Time‑management and ability to adhere to deadlines
• Knowledge of web accessibility (WCAG)
• Experience with different style guides, primarily APA and Oxford
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively communicate complex information clearly and simply
• Experience working with remote teams
• Self‑directed and capable of working in a fast‑paced environment
• Digital education experience is a bonus
• Additional training in editing/advanced grammar is advantageous
• Knowledge of eLearning platforms is advantageous
