Job description

Our client, a well‑established and respected law firm based in Cape Town, is looking for a Conveyancing Paralegal to join their team to register transfers. The role involves attending to the transfer process from instruction to registration. Ideal candidates will have 2–3 years of experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Open new matters on AJS and LexisConvey, prepare introductory correspondence, perform LexisWinDeed searches, and manage all FICA and KYC verification processes.
  • Maintain physical and electronic files, ensuring all essential documents are organized, complete, and easily accessible.
  • Draft various conveyancing documents, including transfer documents, using MS Word and LexisConvey.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as scanning, copying, filing, deliveries, archiving, and scheduling document‑signing appointments.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues that may arise during the transfer process.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, attorneys, and external parties, providing timely updates and addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare invoices and final accounts for transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including FICA, KYC, and other relevant laws.
Education and Qualifications
  • Matric / Grade 12.
  • Recognised professional paralegal qualification (preferred).
  • In‑depth knowledge of conveyancing procedures and legislation.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and LexisConvey.
  • Experience with AJS & E4 is advantageous.
