Job summary

Freudenberg Nonwovens (Pty.) Ltd. in Cape Town seeks a production operator to ensure the production plan is followed and targets are met. You will document shift operations according to SOPs/SAP where applicable, and uphold all safety practices.

The role requires Matric, basic safety knowledge, and strong communication skills. You will work both independently and as part of a team, with proficiency in Excel for daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Matric is required with basic safety knowledge.
• Ability to follow SOPs and SOP-compliant procedures.
• Good communication in English, both verbal and written.
• Capable of working both independently and in a team.
• Proficiency with basic computer tasks and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operations to ensure the production plan is followed to meet standards and targets.
• Ensure product meets qualitative and quantitative specifications and escalate deviations promptly.
• Accurately document shift operations per SOP and SAP where applicable.
• Document shift handovers related to breakdowns, products, and safety in the logbook.
• Apply all HSE safety principles and raise any issues or concerns.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor operations to ensure that the production plan is followed to meet standards to achieve optimum productivity of targets. (QKI, FTBY, SU, and SE) Refer to Annexure A for Standard Operating Procedures applicable to the assigned area of responsibility .
• Make sure product meets qualitative and quantitative specifications as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures and escalation any deviations or irregularities that do not meet required standard immediately .
• Accurately document shift operations throughout production as per Standard Operating Procedures and SAP (where applicable).
• Make sure proper shift handover relating to breakdowns, products , safety by documenting in the communication logbook.
• Apply all HSE safety principles, rules and requirements always and elevate any issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

• Matric .
• Basic understanding of safety regulations and procedures .
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• Good communication skills (verbal & written ).
• Computer literacy and includes a basic understanding of excel.
