The Control Technician at Mondelēz International is a technical expert responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of industrial automation and control systems within a manufacturing environment. The role involves a mix of hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting, and collaboration with production teams to achieve quality and performance targets.

How you will contribute
  • Partner & Enable the line leader(s) todeliver the SQCDSM targets-Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability & Morale for the lines, to ensure Process stability; Participates inthe DMS- Daily Management systems meetings at the shift and line level
  • Own the technology and process and centerline settings for the equipment and processand have deep technical mastery of the process and equipment; Owns the PM-Progressivemaintenance systems and work processes and the PM-Progressive Maintenance KeyPerformance Indicators for the line/s along with Centerline Management systems; ownsthe R&M-Repairs & Maintenance budget of the line
  • Develop, own and execute the line/s preventive and time-based maintenance systemsand plans and build capability of the teamto execute themselves; Build (spends at least50% of time) technical and maintenance skills of the technicians working in the shifts, sothat they are able to operate and maintain their equipment themselves; be part of the PMPillar, own all PM systems and work process at the line level and lead some of them atthe department level
  • Partner with the Asset and Reliability team for system improvement and execution ofspecial maintenance tasks; be responsible for Change Management on the line/s,localization of spares and proper break-down analysis and R&M cost reduction for theline/s; Represents the department/line/s as the site technology owner in the regional andglobal technology forums
  • Assist in VSU for the new initiatives and enable the VSU team; Help the line leader ininternal and external benchmarking and reapplication; be the subject matter expert on oneof the component categories and be a trainer of PM related subjects for the plant

Job specific requirements:
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform regular and preventative maintenance on industrial automation equipment, including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), servo motors, and conveyor systems. This involves electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve malfunctions efficiently.
  • Partner & Enable the line leader(s) to deliver the SQCDSM targets-Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability & Morale for the lines, to ensure Process stability; Participates in the DMS- Daily Management systems meetings at the shift and line level
  • Own the technology and process and centerline settings for the equipment and process and have deep technical mastery of the process and equipment; Owns the PM-Progressive maintenance systems and work processes and the PM-Progressive Maintenance Key Performance Indicators for the line/s along with Centerline Management systems; owns the R&M-Repairs & Maintenance budget of the line
  • Automation and Controls Support: Provide expert support for multiple production lines to maintain safe and reliable manufacturing systems and improve production rates and efficiencies.
  • Programming and Configuration: Utilize Rockwell Automation software (e.g., RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000 Logix Designer) to troubleshoot, configure, and make modifications to PLCs and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • System Optimization: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce repair and maintenance (R&M) costs.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment modifications. Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety codes (e.g., OSHA, CSA) and other health, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.
  • Training and Mentorship: Spend significant time building the technical and maintenance skills of other technicians, acting as a subject matter expert for specific equipment or component categories.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in and lead Integrated Lean Six Sigma (IL6S) or other continuous improvement initiatives, using problem‑solving tools to find permanent solutions to recurring problems and eliminate process variability and losses.
Education/Required Skills & Knowledge:
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial automation networks and the ability to read and interpret electrical circuit drawings/blueprints and P&IDs.
  • Degree or National Diploma N6 in Automation or Electrical Engineering diploma or related fields. Sound engineering background with effective all round technical analysis, logical, focused and result‑oriented approach.
  • Proven knowledge in Rockwell, Siemens Automation and Adroit Scada
  • A minimum of 4 years of hands‑on experience as lead automation engineer in industrial automation and control systems in manufacturing sector with high‑speed process & packing lines.
  • Strong knowledge of Electrical Safety codes and H&S standards.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and SAP software.
  • Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The role is often based in a manufacturing facility and can involve physical demands such as lifting, climbing, and working in varying temperatures. No Relocation support available.
