Contracts Manager - Kimberley

Job Summary

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee and coordinate all of our client's site activities for the construction of the New Nursing College Kimberley Phase 2A. This role is critical in ensuring the project is completed within the specified quality standards, production targets, and budget constraints. The Contracts Manager will act as a key liaison between clients and site staff, managing communication, agreeing on project parameters, and submitting regular financial reports. The role requires full-time on-site commitment.

  • Resource Centre (Library & Computer Labs)
  • Support Services (Waste, Laundry, Plant, Cleaners, Maintenance)
  • Student Support (Student Centre & Cafeteria)
  • Academic Instruction (Lecture Hall & Simulation Labs)
  • Fitness Centre (Gym, Ablutions & Swimming Pool)
  • Institutional Support (Administration)
  • Security & Control (Gate Houses & Foyer)
  • Related Services & Site Works
Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning

    Deep knowledge of JBCC contracts.

    Formulate comprehensive construction plans, ensuring safety, QA, contract administration, and subcontractor management.

    Ensure adherence to company systems and processes for flawless task execution.

  • Programming the Contract

    Assess and integrate detailed programmes from subcontractors and specialist trades.

    Regularly update and manage the project programmes.

  • Contract Execution

    Oversee contract management and supervision.

    Ensure timely procurement of resources.

    Approve safety plans and manage safety processes.

    Manage QA and environmental plans.

    Administer contracts effectively.

    Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance.

    Provide regular financial and progress reports.

    Oversee contract close-out processes and financial performance.

    Address industrial relations and support training and development for site staff.

Minimum Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience

    At least 10 years in the construction industry, with experience in managing contracts for general building, sewer, roads, water, and earthworks projects.

  • Education

    Matric (Grade 12) and a BSc / BTech degree in a Built Environment-related field.

  • Software Proficiency: CCS, BuildSmart, Microsoft Office Suite.
