Job summary

A leading automotive company in Johannesburg is seeking an Inventory Control Procurement professional to manage inventory and supplier relationships. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Supply Chain Management and at least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the automotive industry. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for success in this role, which offers a 12-month contract.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree / Advanced Diploma / B Tech in relevant fields.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in Supply Chain / Logistics / Procurement.
  • Automotive industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall inventory and supplier management.
  • Maintain inventory stock and manage dealer back-order aging.
  • Forecast performance and manage ETD accuracy.

Position Overview

Vacancy exists in the Inventory Control Procurement Department, which is part of the Customer Service Division based in Boksburg Office (Atlas Road).

This position reports to the Procurement Manager and will focus on the Supply Chain and Inventory Management.

Contract Duration

12 months contract.

Qualifications and Experience
  • NQF Level 6 with credits on level 8 framework (Bachelor’s degree / Advanced Diploma / B Tech) Engineering, Supply Chain Management / Finance Management / Business Administration Management / Logistics Management or similar
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in Supply Chain / Logistics / Procurement
Project Management Advantage

Automotive industry experience would be an advantage.

Required Competencies
  • Good communication and negotiation skills (verbal and written)
  • PC Literacy—MS Office packages: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • MRP system application experience, such as SAP
  • Logistics / Supply Chain Operations experience: managing transportation, warehousing, inventory, and global shipping
  • Order Management: manage customer demand by forecasting and issuing purchase orders to suppliers locally and internationally
  • Project Management: proven track record of leading cross‑functional projects with timelines, budgets, and KPIs
  • Analytical strategic skills: strong data analysis and forecasting abilities to support decision‑making in supply planning, vendor performance, and cost optimization
  • Collaboration & communication: excellent coordination with internal teams and external partners; strong organizational and problem‑solving skills in dynamic environments
  • Awareness of situations, decisiveness and ability to create an innovative vision, perseverance
  • Driver’s license and ability to travel nationally
