Job summary

A leading workforce solutions company in Gauteng is seeking a Contract Manager responsible for efficient operational service delivery according to client agreements. You will manage employee resources, oversee payroll processes, and maintain health & safety governance, along with strong client relationships and team development. Ideal candidates will have supervisory experience in the food production or packaging industry, with necessary management qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification is required.
  • A management qualification is essential.
  • Relevant degree in logistics or related field is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and allocate resources for daily tasks based on client needs.
  • Monitor performance, maintain dashboards, and mitigate risks.
  • Handle ER / IR issues and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Maintain health & safety governance.
  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Manage payroll accuracy and employee queries.
  • Build and maintain client relationships and monitor performance.
  • Coach and develop the site team to achieve goals.

Education

Grade 12 or NQF 4 related Qualification
NQF 5 Generic Management or Business Management Qualification
Related industry degree or ND advantageous in CI / Supply Chain / FMCG / Logistics
Up to 2 years supervisory experience in production / packaging industries
Food Production, Manufacturing and / or Packaging industry experience
FMCG experience
IR / CCMA experience

The Opportunity

The Contract Manager is responsible and fully accountable for efficient and profitable operational service delivery in line with client Service Level Agreements and Pricing Schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and allocate employee resources to execute daily operational tasks and ensure full staffing in line with client requirements.
  • Monitor output and performance, maintain dashboards, facilitate toolbox talks and feedback sessions, and mitigate operational risks.
  • Manage ER / IR issues, maintain strong employee relations, and ensure compliance with labour legislation, client and company policies.
  • Maintain health & safety governance including safety-file upkeep, insurance certificates, equipment issuance, and incident investigation procedures.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding and HR compliance: create job specs, liaise with recruitment centre, ensure assessments, employee briefings and HR matrices are up to date.
  • Manage payroll processes for direct staff, ensure accuracy, handle queries, ensure payslip distribution and maintain integrity of payroll data.
  • Manage client relationships and contract performance: conduct monthly scorecards, ensure invoice accuracy, monitor contract spend, service-level agreements and client satisfaction.
  • Lead, coach and develop the site team: ensure performance management, talent development, succession planning and a motivated, productive workforce aligned to transformation goals.

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Grade 12 or NQF 4 related Qualification
  • NQF 5 Generic Management or Business Management Qualification

  • Up to 2 years supervisory experience in production / packaging industries
