Job summary

A global assurance company is seeking a Contract Food Safety & IMS Auditor in Cape Town. The role involves conducting assessments, leading audit teams, and producing compliance reports. Qualifications

Overview

What are you going to do
  • Within authorised area of specialism undertake business assurance assessments in accordance with current procedures and agreed timescales.
  • Lead assessment teams effectively ensuring that the visit is completed within the agreed timescales and co-ordinating team findings to reach conclusions.
  • Produce high quality assessment reports reflecting business assurance principles in compliance with accreditation requirements and internal procedures.
  • Ensure that all internal client stakeholders are kept informed of changes and issues escalating as appropriate.
  • Pass opportunities and sales leads to appropriate colleagues to progress.
  • Pass client feedback and insights to appropriate internal recipients.
  • Maintain professional competence by keeping abreast of technical and other developments in own area of expertise maintaining CPD records updating CV maintaining professional registrations and producing records of competence as required.
  • Actively build strong client and internal relationships.
  • Participate fully in Assessor meetings.
What do we ask from you
  • Hold a degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject (including studies in general microbiology general chemistry and food science).
  • Have GFSI standard auditor certification (FSSC 22000) and ISO 22000 auditor qualification.
  • Have substantial experience in third party auditing / assessment to FSSC22000 ISO 22000 HACCP ISO9001 ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 including system level auditing and process level auditing.
  • Have a minimum of five years of full-time work experience in the food-chain-related industry including at least two years of work in quality assurance or food safety functions within food production or manufacturing retailing inspection or enforcement or the equivalent.
  • Have experience with a wide range of food products including but not limited to confectionary dry and wet pet food beverages catering and other food products.
  • Possess a high standard of personal presentation excellent communication skills both written and verbal and a flexible attitude.
  • Have the ability to travel extensively throughout MEA and occasionally to Africa if needed.
  • Be keenly focused on client service excellence.
  • You will be competent in Microsoft Office suite (Word Excel PowerPoint) and other computer applications.
Following will be added advantage
  • NEBOSH or equivalent qualification in HSE.
  • Knowledge of local language (speaking / written)
